Summer Writing Contest

Incredible imaginations and writing skills were displayed in the Teen Summer Writing Contest held by the Smiths Falls Library.

With a theme of "strange creatures", the winning writer was Raena Adams for her story “Rupterra” and the runners-up were Manny Benda for “Below” and Mara Looby for “Winged Child Paradise”.

The SFDACC were sponsors for the contest that saw a prize of $100 for the winner Raena Adams and $25 for the two runners-up.

There was a very strong field of writers for this contest and we were delighted to have been asked to help with the adjudication.  This contest provides an opportunity to Smiths Falls teens (between the ages 12-18) who are aspiring writers and story tellers to flex their creative muscles and potentially win a prize for it. The contest is held over the summer and the winner is announced in the beginning of September.
